Updating My Calendar & Blog at 30,000′
Woah… airline travel has certainly come a long way since I was a kid. I’m adding this post at roughly 30,000′ above the snow capped, Rocky Mountains en route to New York for Thanksgiving and a performance on The Early Show on CBS this Saturday morning, 11/28, followed by a set at The Bitter End, also in New York. As usual, I left my packing and planning until the last minute and was up until about 3:00 AM PST before getting picked up by trusted friend and band mate, Boone Spooner, at the crack of 5:45 AM PST. (Owie…) Sadly, my guitars were not allowed on board this time around. Usually, I can pretty much work it out with the gate staff and the flight attendants, but the flight was packed and guess who gets the last priority in terms of luggage? That’s right… us musicians! Ah well… at least my babies were gate checked, which is infinitely better than surrendering them to the maze of baggage conveyor belts, bumps, grinds, etc. generally associated with checked baggage. In any case, keep your fingers crossed for my two Taylor 814ce’s. I feel a bit of guilt with me up here in my cushy seat with a view while they suffer in the cold (hopefully pressurized) luggage compartment below. In any case, as the battery is dying on my laptop and my eyelids are starting to close, I’ll leave you with that for now.
Don’t forget to watch CBS on Saturday morning, November 28th for a live performance on the nationally-aired program “The Early Show”. I’ll be performing two songs with my band on live television. Mark your calendars now and set those TiVo’s, VCR’s, DVR’s, etc. In the mean time, have a very happy and safe Thanksgiving! See you all soon…
