Jam Packed Show at Steynberg Gallery in San Luis Obispo
Last night, I really enjoyed playing at this crazy art gallery turned music venue, The Steynberg Gallery, in San Luis Obispo, CA. My set was just one in a night of about 6 or so that local indie music promoter Steve Key put together. The talent was really impressive and featured acts from all over the place including New York, Portland (OR), San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles. The audience was warm and receptive and in the buying mood, too, luckily for me and my gas tank. Heck, a very nice family even offered up their couch for me after the show and woke me this morning with a hot plate of eggs, buttered toast, and juice… ya just can’t beat that, can ya? Talk about local hospitality! (Thanks, Tom and Harland!)
After wolfing down some chow, I high tailed it up the coast to Santa Cruz where I will be performing a solo acoustic set from 7:00-9:00pm at this groovy little spot called Asana Tea House. Admission is free and it’s a really great spot to hear every word, phrase, and guitar line – the acoustics are good and the venue is pretty intimate. Parking is aplenty in the evenings, so come on down and check it out!
