Santa Margarita, 4/15 Playing at The Porch
After a really fun radio show down in San Luis Obispo, CA at The Krush 92.5 FM, we drove up to Santa Margarita, CA to perform at The Porch as part of local songwriter Steve Key’s “Songwriters at Play” event. It was a great time with a number of really talented performers including friend and Bay Area musician Jesse Brewster who tore it up with some of his new material from his upcoming release.
Joined by percussionist Jesse Weber, I had a really fun time up on stage playing an assortment of tracks from “Something Out There” and some newer material that I’ve been working on recently. We were received really well by a warm, friendly, and active crowd that wasn’t afraid to shout some words of encouragement and motivation to Jesse during one of his percussion solos (I mean, this guy is killing it and we’ve only played together a few times so far).
After the show, we helped Steve Key pack up the gear, sold a bunch of CDs, chatted it up with some of the other musicians that performed that night, and then headed back down to San Luis Obispo to meet up with some folks we met at The Porch for a cold beer and some pizza right in the heart of downtown. I have to say that San Luis Obispo was ROCKIN’ last night… people were out and about in rare form. Lots of fun and I bet it has to be one of the better college towns in the US.
Thanks a ton to Steve for continuing to support independent music here in the Central Coast. Were it not for him, there wouldn’t be much of a music scene or a songwriter community down here. Hats off to you, Steve! As for us, we’re back on the road today heading up to Paso Robles, CA to perform at The Pour House this evening at 7:00 PM. If you’re in town, swing on by for a cold one or a glass of some local wine and join us! Otherwise, stay tuned here for more daily updates and we’ll see ya soon.
