San Luis Obispo, CA
Man! Steve Key knows how to put on a great acoustic show. You gotta check out Songwriters at Play when you have a chance, if you live along the Central Coast. Steve is a huge supporter of independent music and does a great job of getting good talent in through the doors of the prestigious venues he books along the way. This night was no exception.
On Tuesday, February 1st, Steve hosted the one year anniversary of his first Songwriters at Play event at Steynberg Gallery, CA in San Luis Obispo, CA. The lineup included Gary Garrett, Shannon Savage, Randall Lamb, Steve Key, me, and more! The genres spanned the gamut from jazz to folk to songwriter to rock and just about everything in between. I had a great time and it certainly seemed as though the audience enjoyed it a ton, too. Can’t wait to get back to San Luis Obispo again to play at one of Steve’s events later this year. It’s always a hoot.
And what blog posting would be complete without a food shot!? Well, after my set, I cruised over to Petra in downtown San Luis Obispo to chow down on a little lamb shawarma. Man, that was so, so good and MUCH needed after a long day of driving and playing… if you’re ever in town, make a stop at Petra. Good veggie options, too! Mm!
