Room 5 Lounge in the City of Angels, CA 03/13/2012
I really, genuinely love performing at Room 5 Lounge in Los Angeles, CA. The sound is top notch, the vibe is really slick, the lounge-style seating is old school, and it’s just so much fun. I had a long day of driving and running around leading up to the show, so when I finally unpacked my guitars, plugged in, and got to singing, it was a welcome relief. There just never seems to be enough playing time when I’m on the road, so every minute in a 50 minute set counts.
I played almost all the cuts from my new, solo acoustic release, “A Thing Or Three“, and then a new co-write titled “Going South”, though it just might change up to “Heading South”. I’m toying with that now, but we’ll see! Sound man, guitarist, songwriter, singer, and all around good guy joined me on stage for my last tune and sat in with some funky, electric guitar. We had a blast and it was great to get one more jam in with Joel before heading out of town for a little while. That dude is good…
In attendance that night were a number of friends, fans, and some industry folks that I met at a recent conference, who I was happy to see. Almost everybody in attendance that night also got a cool, limited-edition ChiMcClean.com pint glass (pictured below) along with their ticket purchase. Later on, a crew of us gathered at Canter’s Deli for some late night pastrami, corned beef, and music. It has become a ritual!
Huge thanks to Joel, Room 5 Lounge, my friends, fans, and everyone else who made this night a success. I had a ton of fun and I can’t wait to come on back and do it all over again. Take care and see you all soon!
