Capitola, CA 08/10/2012

A frosty, cold one, courtesy of my buddy (and a terrific singer/songwriter), Dan Littlefield. Thanks for the photo!
After hanging around the Central Coast of California for a few days of performances, I climbed back into the Taco’ and headed up to Capitola, CA to perform at the coolest little wine bar around: CAVA. I always love performing here because a) I can usually sneak a surf in nearby, b) I absolutely dig this little beach town, c) it’s awesome to see some local friends and surf buddies, and d) the wine, cheese, acoustics, and service at the wine bar are unparalleled.
Around 7:00pm on Friday, I pulled up and lucked out with true, rock star parking right out front, was greeted by my buddy, Cliff, and loaded in for a quick set up and hang session before I kicked things off at 8:00pm. Right before I hit the first chord, Cliff hopped in and made the nicest introduction just about anyone has ever made before my performance. Two hours went by and it was finally time to call it quits, so I left the stage and caught up with some friends, new fans, and a musician buddy of mine who paid me a surprise visit. Very cool! Suddently, about 30 minutes later, I found myself back on stage performing for another hour, then hanging out with the staff at Cava, some night owls, and theme music courtesy of The Crystal Method. Needless to say, it was a terrific evening, as usual, at this place and I can’t wait to make it back there!
Thank you to Cliff, Bob, and Nancy at CAVA for being amazing as always, my buddy Lee for making my stay in Capitola a stress-free time with a comfy place to lay my head after the gig, and Mike, John, Amy, and the rest of the local gang for supporting, as usual. Great times, good people, and I can’t wait to come back. See ya soon, friends!
