SF Local Music Night 12/9/09 at La Barca
Well, there are some exciting things happening here in San Francisco this week! For starters, it SNOWED IN THE CITY yesterday! Sure, it was for all of five minutes or so, but I can’t recall that ever happening here. And, yes… it’s colder than it was in New York over Thanksgiving! Second, I’ll be kicking off the inaugural “Local Music Night” at La Barca tomorrow night, Wednesday, December 9th with two other great, local musicians.
For a while, the good folks at La Barca and I have been trying to figure out a way to break new, independent, acoustic music. After much deliberation (and probably more Mexican food), we settled on a few select Wednesday nights to get the ball rolling. Long story short, the very first performance will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, December 9th from 8:00pm until 11:00pm. We’ve lined up two singer/songwriters from the Bay Area to join me including Kaitlin McGaw (www.myspace.com/kaitlinmcgaw) who will open things up from 8-9pm, and Todd Haemmerle (www.myspace.com/toddhaemmerle) who will close the night out from 10-11pm. I’ll be performing in the middle from 9-10pm.
Each artist has his or her own style and it should be a fun night. Plus, you couldn’t ask for a better spot to be on a cold night than La Barca with delicious, hot Mexican food and spicy salsa to  keep you warm! Admission will be free for all of these events, so mark your calendars, gather your troops, and meet us down at La Barca tomorrow night to experience some original, independent music from The Bay Area.
La Barca is located at 2036 Lombard Street @ Fillmore Street in San Francisco, CA. Call ahead if you’d like to reserve a table before the performance at (415) 921-2221. 21+ or with an adult.
