Genghis Cohen Tonight Los Angeles, CA
Wow… after a fun show up in San Luis Obispo at The Clubhouse on Sunday, January 10th, I cruised down to Santa Barbara yesterday. Upon arrival, I met up with my buddy Terrence and we headed out for a surf at Rincon – perhaps the most perfect right-hand wave I have ever seen. Honestly, I wasn’t sure if it could get any better than my session at The Hook in Santa Cruz on Sunday morning, but it could… and it did. We had an insane sunset session last night with near-perfect head high surf that connected for days. With every wave, the sunset got even more beautiful, more brilliant, and more impressive. Afterwards, we caught up at this cool little Lebanese restaurant in downtown Santa Barbara. Can’t remember the name right now, but I bet it’s the only one in town – look for it if you’re passing through town sometime and you won’t be disappointed.
Today, I woke up to a little fog along the coast, which reminded me of San Francisco. It didn’t last for long, though, as the sun seems to be able to break through down here every day, no matter what. So, I’m now sitting outside at a coffee shop working on updating my websites, blogs, etc. and sending out a few reminders for my show tonight at Genghis Cohen in Los Angeles.
If you’re in LA tonight, I go on at 10:00pm and it’s going to be a fun time. One of the guys from the band Vertical Horizon is on the bill and there are a number of other great songwriters performing as well. I’m also excited to order up some of their Chinese food – it’s AMAZING. In any case, the cover is just $10.00 for the entire night of music from 8:00pm – 10:00pm. Plus, the sound system is really sweet at this venue, so if you’re an audiophile or are just into listening to really great sounding acoustic music in an intimate setting, you should make a point of being there.
Hope to see you out there at Genghis Cohen later tonight! In the mean time, it’s off to bag another surf before heading south… Ah, California…
