COVID-19 Alert: All Performance Dates Canceled Until Further Notice
I hope everyone out there is keeping themselves safe, healthy and – most of all – I hope that you all are simply staying put at home! This is a weird, unpredictable and unprecedented time in our lives and it’s important that we all follow the CDC and WHO recommendations so we can quickly put a lid on the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, and around the globe. Sadly, for me and a lot of my music pals, this also means that most, if not all, of our upcoming tours, performances, etc. have been canceled or postponed for the foreseeable future. What does this mean for the future of live music? Is it over? Certainly not. Sure, it has been, and will continue to be, a big blow to our income, and it is terribly frustrating to not be able to get out and do the very thing that we, as performers, love to do most. However, we’re learning to pivot and find new ways to create, collaborate, entertain, perform, etc. in this new “reality” and it has sparked some cool, fun and interesting ideas. After all, as Plato wrote, “Necessity is the mother of invention.” While there will most definitely not be an end to live entertainment, at some point, there WILL be an end to COVID-19. We just need to hang on, hold the line, and do what it right for us all. I can promise you that when this all is through, there is going to be a ton of new music, an eager group of entertainers who will be more stoked than ever to hit the road, and a rabid bunch of music fans teaming to hear, feel, and experience it all again. So, hang tough, friends! In the mean time, I’ll be working up some “live” performances online, posting a few vids here and there, and using this time to take a look what direction I want to take my music. I think a change is coming… and I’m excited. Take care and see ya soon, friends!
