Limited Outdoor Performances Underway
Things got sort of hot and humid back in Nashville, TN for this kid, so it was time to hit the road, get back to #VanLife, and find a wave and some empty singletrack on the west coast. Along the way, I started to get a few calls about experimenting with some outdoor performances. So, with two under my belt this August, we’re gonna keep trying to get the music out there.
Out in California, there’ve been a number of other issues to contend with, not least of which is a ton of smoke from all the recent wildfires around the state. Each day has been different, but even the best laid plans sometimes have to adjust on the fly. One thing that has been constant so far is the level of respect, distance, and concern for one another at these outdoor sets. Folks have been adhering to official state and federal guidelines for health safety and awareness, and it’s really been helping to open things back up and get the music playing again.
I’m not sure how all this is going to shake out over the long haul, if things will shut down again completely for a bit, or what, but for now, I’m slowly starting to get back out there and am making a little noise – and it feels great. So, keep your eyes on my calendar and, if you happen to see something nearby, c’mon by for some jams! Just remember to bring your mask, your hand sanitizer, and an open mind so we can keep the distance between others and keep working our way towards a busy and vibrant music and social scene.
Take care of yourselves, hang in there, and see ya soon!
