Thanks, San Francisco!
Last Thursday night, we had an amazing time at The Hotel Utah Saloon here in San Francisco, CA. Local songwriter, Heather Combs, put on her monthly “songwriters in the round” event and invited me, Austin Willacy, and Stewart Lewis to join in the antics. In fact, there was some serious music going on that night, but it was a ton of fun. Each performer, myself included, improvised on each other’s music with an assortment of vocal harmonies, percussion, additional guitar, and (in Austin’s case) beat boxing.
The crowd had a ton of fun interacting with the different performances, stories behind the songs, etc. but we were all smiles up on stage. There were definitely a few sing-along moments, call and response sections (some executed flawlessly, some ending with more laughs than anything else), and, in general, a lot of creative energy floating around The Hotel Utah Saloon that night.
The venue had an amazing Thursday night beating most of their Friday and Saturday nights in recent history and everyone left happy. For more info’ on the other folks on stage last Thursday, you can check out Heather Combs, Austin Willacy and Stewart Lewis online to see where and when they’ll be performing next.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the show and made it a really memorable night. I’m looking forward to the next “songwriters in the round” event with Heather and hope you’ll join us!
